As part of an innovative and engaging activation of the #KnowYourContinent initiative, the Faculty of Arts at Capital University, in collaboration with Zoom Africa, has launched a series of short-form Reels videos. The initiative is coordinated by Dr. Engy Lotfy, Assistant Professor in the Department of Mass Communication and Director of the Department’s Training Unit.
The videos feature “Nala,” a 3D cartoon virtual presenter created entirely using artificial intelligence technologies. Nala presents concise and engaging overviews of the most important facts, customs, traditions, and unique cultural characteristics of Morocco and Tanzania, delivering the content in an attractive and accessible format.
The initiative aims to launch an ongoing educational series designed to enhance public awareness of the African continent and its rich cultural diversity. It also reflects the strategic vision of the Faculty of Arts at Capital University to prepare globally competent graduates equipped with a deep understanding of the issues shaping their regional and continental environment, while possessing the linguistic proficiency and professional skills required to meet the demands of the global job market.
It is worth noting that Professor Ahmed Al-Rawi, Dean of the Faculty of Arts at Capital University, recently welcomed journalist and writer Sally Atef, Editor-in-Chief of Zoom Africa, and honored her in recognition of her distinguished contributions to African affairs journalism.
