Writers from 15 countries took part in various events of the traditional international literary festival held from Nov 18 to 22

The traditional international literary festival ‘World Thinker and writers Peace Meet’ organized by the International Society for Intercultural Studies of India and Asia, International Foundation for Culture, Literature and Arts (Kolkata), Adamas University, Rabindranath Family Museum and BRICS Writers Association concluded its work in Kolkata. The forum brought together writers from 15 countries.
From November 18 to 22, the writers took part in numerous events held at cultural centers, universities and the Kolkata Academy of Dance, Drama and Visual Arts. Russia was represented by Vadim Teryokhin, Russian poet, member of the board of the Russian Writers’ Union and general coordinator of the BRICS Writers’ Association.
The International Foundation for Culture, Literature and Arts in Kolkata (India) also hosted the awarding of the BRICS Order of ISSIAR (International Society for Intercultural Studies, India, Asia) to Dr. Sudipto Chatterjee, Secretary of ISSIAR (International Society for Intercultural Studies, India, Asia), established by the BRICS International Financial and Economic Forum and the ‘Doing Good’ platform of opportunities, and the Forum Diploma signed by Dmitry Li-Khan-Chin, Chairman of the Organizing Committee.
The laureate was honored with such a high award for his creative contribution to world literature and strengthening friendship between peoples. Vadim Teryokhin, poet and General Coordinator of the BRICS Writers Association, presented the awards in a solemn ceremony.
He expressed hope that BRICS would develop in all areas: financial, economic, cultural and literary and thanked the Indian side for its attention and sensitivity in organizing the event.
The BRICS Writers’ Association also awarded the most prominent world writers and cultural and artistic figures with honorary statuettes, medals and certificates.
During the festival there was a presentation of books by Ahmad Al Shaway (Egypt), Sastri Bakri (Indonesia), Jonah and Tobius Burghardt (Argentina, Germany), Malasha Edwin Wethamani (Malaysia), Vadim Teryokhin (Russia), translated into Bengali and published by the International Society for Intercultural Studies.
The participants of the meeting discussed the work plans of the BRICS Writers Association. For the year 2025.
The representatives of the friendly countries present showed great interest in the proposal to co-operate with the Union of Writers of Russia. (PR)
