The Bahrain national football team qualified to the Round of 16 of the AFC Asian Cup, being held in Doha, after defeating Jordan 1-0 today, Thursday, on Khalifa International Stadium.
Bahrain raised its points tally to 6, topping Group E, followed by South Korea with 5 points after its 3-3 draw with Malaysia in the same group, while Jordan finished the qualifiers round in third place with 4 points.
In Group F, Thailand (5 points) followed Saudi Arabia (7 points) into the Round of 16 after the two national teams met in a goalless draw, while Oman and Kyrgyzstan exited the competition after a 1-1 draw and tallying 2 points each.
