Hala Sedki, honored with the "Al Asima Cinema" award as the Best Arab Actress for 2023 in recognition of her wonderful artistic career and significant contributions to the Arab art world, praised the promising talents in the UAE. She considered that the UAE has all the elements necessary to create films that can compete across the Arab world. She emphasized the importance of supporting and encouraging these new talents who contribute to the development of the film industry.
The launch date for the "Al Asima Cinema" channel was announced on Thursday, scheduled for December 1st. The channel is a platform for exploring the realms of local cinema and showcasing a variety of Emirati films, including drama, action, comedy, and science fiction, along with implementing educational and informative programs for new generations and talents in cinema.
The launch ceremony featured the screening of "Zayed: Birth of a Nation," prepared, executed, and directed by Nasser Al Tamimi, which highlights aspects of the journey of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and his historical achievements.
The channel's launch was attended by journalist Mohamed Mounir, Editor-in-Chief of "Life Al Arabiya," and honored a group of cinema professionals, including directors, producers, and actors, who have enriched the artistic scene with their distinctive works and made exceptional artistic contributions to the local and Arab scene. The honorees included producer Sultan Al Neyadi, actor Mansoor Al Feeli, director Ahmed Zain Al Hashemi, director Abdullah Al Junaibi, actress Sougha, actor Ibrahim Al Marisi, actor Ali Al Tahir, and production manager Adel Abdou.
