Whether it’s celebrating life, womanhood, or love for humanity, painter and art curator Manika Srivastav has mastered the flair of using art as a tool to reflect on experiences.
“I make art to give voice to questions, reactions and feelings within me. My goal every time I start a piece is that at the end I should be able to step back and see the path to my original inspiration.,” said Manika.
Having showcased her passion for more than 30 years years, Manika possesses a rich experience in art world, participating in various exhibitions, panel discussions and conferences in countries including USA, France, England, Scotland, Hong Kong and Egypt. Her travels have led to a client base scattered across the globe.
Manika explained, “Art for me is a visual language that has the capacity to resonate with millions of people around the world. Opportunities to share my art deliver a unique sense of contentment for me. And traveling has helped to do this in many regions of the world.”
Returning to the country after 20 years Manika praises the continuous growth of the art industry in the region. She notes that city art developments such as the Manarat Al Sadiyat, Alserkal Avenue in Dubai and the Louvre Abu Dhabi have played a vital role in inspiring the creative minds of locals and residents alike.
“I’m happy to see both young and old express emotions, points of view, and passion through art. With UAE being home to people of all walks of life, the country holds so much potential in this medium. I look forward to actively participating and showing my work in the years to come,” concluded Manika.
Manika’s latest art work ‘Ode to Peace III’ can be viewed at Tashkeel, Nad Al Sheba 1.
