Courtyard by Marriott World Trade Center, Abu Dhabi will join people and organizations around the world to show their support by taking action against global warming. The world-class hotel will commemorate Earth hour with the hope to inspire the community by switching off all its lights for one hour in the evening between 8:30 and 9:30 p.m.
The movement shall involve turning off all lights in the lobby and Fifth Street Café and the entire hotel will operate on minimal lighting for one hour with the help of candles burning throughout. However, lighting shall be provided wherever needed in case of emergency and for security concerns. Courtyard by Marriott World Trade Center, Abu Dhabi, would like to encourage their guest to participate, at their discretion, by switching off the lights in rooms.
Matthias Widor, General Manager of Courtyard by Marriott World Trade Center, Abu Dhabi said: “By participating in Earth Hour we are sending out a powerful global message about environmental awareness and energy conservation. Understanding the consequences of our actions and how it has affected our world is very important to us. We want to overcome malpractices which possess a threat to the environment to minimise further damage for the future generations.”
