Abu Dhabi International Airport welcomed Cobalt Air’s first flight arriving from Larnaca, Cyprus, with the traditional water cannon salute at the capital’s airport at 4:10 am this morning. The maiden flight marks the commencement of a direct service three times a week between Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH) and Larnaca International Airport (LCA) by Cobalt Air.
The Abu Dhabi route will feature Cobalt Air’s new business class product, featuring large bespoke business seats in a two-by-two configuration with a 40” pitch; as well as their Dine on Demand service. Cobalt Air will use an A320 aircraft with 12 seats in business class and 144 seats in economy class to operate the new route.
The schedule is timed to appeal to both business and leisure passengers looking for competitive connections to London and other key global hubs. Flights will depart Abu Dhabi on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays at 05:10 (LT) and arrive into Larnaca at 07:30 (LT). On the way home, flights leave Larnaca on Sundays, Tuesdays and Fridays at 22:30 (LT) and arrive back in Abu Dhabi the next morning at 04:10 (LT).
