As part of its parallel activities to the Cairo International Book Fair 2025, the independent Darna Museum, founded by the artist Abdel Razek Okasha, is set to host an exceptional literary evening on January 30th at 6:00 PM.
This evening will celebrate the outstanding literary and artistic contributions of Egyptian poet, journalist, writer, and translator Ashraf Aboul-Yazid, alongside Tunisian novelists Nesrine Moeddeb and Dr. Hanen Jennane. The event will be moderated by Dr. Hussein Abdel-Bassir, a creative novelist, renowned archaeologist, and Director of the Antiquities Museum at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina.
Honoring Ashraf Aboul-Yazid

Ashraf stands as a cultural ambassador for Egypt, leaving a profound impact on both Arabic and global literature.His literary career encompasses 44 books, authored and translated, many of which have been published in various languages, including English, German, Korean, Russian, Persian, Sindhi, Serbian, and Turkish.
Abdel Razek Okasha Added: “Among Ashraf’s most notable works are the novels Shamous, 31, Backyard, and The Interpreter, alongside poetic collections such as Memory of Butterflies , The Whisper of the Sea and A Street in Cairo. His travel literature includes works like A River on a Journey and A Caravan of Moroccan Tales. Darna Museum is proud to honor this creative figure in an evening that allows the audience to engage with his rich literary experience."
A Special Presence: Nesrine Moeddeb and Dr. Hanen Jennane
The evening will also feature Tunisian novelist Nesrine Moeddeb, returning for the second time to Darna Museum's audience, sharing her creative thoughts and narrative experiences. Joining her will be Dr. Hanen Jennane, a writer and university professor in law, whose contributions blend academic expertise with literary insight.
