Dr. Jernail Singh Anand, based in Chandigarh, is an Indian poet and scholar credited with 170 plus books of English literature, philosophy and spirituality. He won great Serbian Award Charter of Morava and his name adorns the Poets’ Rock in Serbia. He was honored with Seneca Award LAUDIS CHARTA by Academy of Arts & Philosophical Sciences, Bari, Italy 2024. SPACE

It is always good if we can give

Space to the person we love

And do not keep

Messing with him all the time.

If we keep thinking of someone

It is sure a sign of our love

But too much of anything

Or anyone is not love but obsession

Obsession with anything or anyone

Has its negative consequences

We need time, as he does too,

For other things to do.

People who are stuck in life

Are often found in obsession

With ideas or men who deny

Freedom to them and themselves

God once stopped me when 

I kept calling him

Morning and evening

And chanting his name nonstop:

‘Don’t keep knocking all the time

Give me space,

There are times

When I don’t like this face.’

ALL THOUGHT, NO ACTION

All the chaos in the world

Is brought about by people

Who think think and think

And don’t act when required

The people who did not act

Have caused more injustice and cruelty

Which could have been avoided

Had they acted in time

Tolerance is a great quality

Good only to an extent

By not speaking up you defy angels

And side with the devil.

Hamlet’s indecision is

What rules this world

Tragedy marks human fate

When men don’t act, just procrastinate

Men are judged not by their indecision

All thought and no action

Is no virtue

In ultimate evaluation.
