The K1 Pro Night at Space 42 Arena, Al Raha Beach, Abu Dhabi, delivered a memorable evening of combat sports with historic victories.
UAE’s Mohammed Touizi claimed the Intercontinental Flyweight Title, while Serbia’s Nikola Todorovic retained the World Super Middleweight Title with a knockout performance.
Organised by the UAE Muay Thai and Kickboxing Federation in collaboration with WAKO Pro, the event featured 28 fighters from 24 countries, showcasing 14 intense bouts. The competition highlighted Abu Dhabi’s growing reputation as a global hub for professional combat sports.
Championship Highlights:
In the Main Event, Serbia’s Nikola Todorovic defeated Spain’s Jordi Coronado, retaining his World Super Middleweight Title with a knockout.
In the Co-Main Event, UAE’s Mohammed Touizi secured the Intercontinental Flyweight Title with a win over Portugal’s Ricardo Hilario in a five-round battle.
Preliminary Highlights:
- Brazil’s Maria Samurai defeated Italy’s Alessia Muroni in the Flyweight division.
- Morocco’s Zakaria Ahmamou knocked out Algeria’s Abdelmoueneme Basta in the Lightweight category.
- Japan’s Kensuke Takao triumphed over China’s Yuhao Zhao in the Bantamweight division.
- Romania’s David Boros defeated Germany’s Hamza Drafat in the Super Welterweight category.
Main Card Highlights:
- Netherlands’ Mohamed El Hammouti overcame Zakaria Al Jari in the Light Welterweight division.
- Turkey’s Izzettin Altunsoz won against UAE’s Mohamed Hadile in the Light Middleweight division.
- Netherlands’ Bogdan Dimitrov triumphed over Guinea’s Basso Pires in the Middleweight division.
Abdullah Saeed Al Neyadi, President of the Asian and Arab Muay Thai Federations and Chairman of the UAE Muay Thai and Kickboxing Federation, expressed his satisfaction with the event. He said, “We are thrilled with the remarkable success of K1 Pro Night, which has concluded our vibrant 2024 season. This tournament has showcased world-class talent and reaffirmed Abu Dhabi’s reputation as a premier destination for combat sports."
Al Neyadi also dedicated Mohammed Touizi’s victory to the UAE’s leadership and expressed gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court, for his support in promoting kickboxing and Muay Thai in the UAE.
The event was attended by several prominent figures, including Tariq Mohammed Al Muhairi, Board Member of the UAE Muay Thai and Kickboxing Federation; Ali Khouri, Executive Member of the International Kickboxing Federation.; Carlos Ramognali, Executive Director of WAKO Pro; Mohammed Al Hosani, Member of the UAE Mixed Martial Arts Committee, and Fouad Darwish, CEO of Palms Sports.
