Frenchman Kylian Mbappé, the new Real Madrid star, confirmed that joining the Spanish club was an old dream he always wished would come true, expressing his overwhelming joy at moving to the ranks of the best team in the world.
Real Madrid, the champion of the UEFA Champions League, presented its new star on Tuesday to the fans and the media at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium in Madrid, after he joined the team on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain in France.
Amid about 80,000 spectators, including club legends and club president Florentino Pérez, the player was presented with his new shirt bearing the number 9.
Mbappé said, "It is amazing to be here. I am a Real Madrid player. It means a lot to me because I have achieved my dream, which has haunted me for many nights."
He added, "I thank everyone who contributed to my joining the ranks of Real Madrid, led by President Florentino Pérez, who trusted me from day one."
Mbappé joined Real Madrid on a free transfer, signing a five-year contract until the summer of 2029.
