H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, lauded the role of cultural institutions in promoting the culture and arts sector, adding that their projects help improve the sector’s quality, growth, and creativity, which are essential for the country’s development.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad made this statement while meeting with Sheikh Salem bin Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of Culture, on the sidelines of the award ceremony for the fifth edition of the Fujairah International Piano Competition, organised by the Fujairah Academy of Fine Arts.
During the meeting, Sheikh Mohammed stressed that H.H. Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, closely follows the emirate’s cultural scene, due to his belief that culture contributes to the development of society and promotes the human and social values that advance communities.
The meeting explored the cultural works, projects, and programmes that align with the UAE’s goals and benchmarks and its leading vision in this key sector.
Sheikh Mohammed also praised the artistic activities and cultural programmes that advance the country’s culture and boost its global stature in the creative industry and its celebration.
The discussion then focussed on various strategic policies, projects and programmes, such as the National Grant Programme for Culture and Creativity, as well as the local and international culture and arts programmes of creative centres in various emirates around the country.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad also commended the ministry’s role in promoting culture, supporting arts, and honouring creators and talents in all creative fields, and highlighted the importance of the cooperation and coordination of all relevant institutions and centres to achieving the highest standards and outcomes.
The meeting was also attended by Dr. Ahmed Hamdan Al Zeyoudi, Director of the Office of the Crown Prince of Fujairah, and Mubarak Al Nakhli, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Culture.
