Lausanne’s most anticipated festival, Festival de la Cité, is set to bring another exhilarating and ground-breaking event from July 10^th -15^th, 2018. The summer event shall expand its boundaries, showcasing some of the most exciting activities and entertainment, stationed throughout different venues in the old town of Lausanne, known as the Cité.

During the six-day extravaganza, the “Cité” will transform into a festive destination offering diverse interactive programs and performances, including kids’ activities, live concerts, movie screenings and tours. The event shall also highlight the urban culture of the city by showcasing performing art segments that combines theatre with music, acting with dance, circus acts with street art, in situ art works, and artistic installations, all of which will feature internationally recognized and emerging local artists to promote originality, unity and creativity right at the core of the city’s heritage.

What’s more, a wellness zone will be available during the event, located at Place du Tunnel. In addition, a new stage has been set up on Place du Chateau as the main platform that will host major performing art shows which aims to inspire the audience to a whole other level. The best part about the festival, is that it is absolutely free!

Director of Lausanne Tourisme, Steeve Pasche, said, “This year marks another edition of the Festival de la Cité event and we have recognized the impact it has, not only attracting locals from all over Switzerland but also tourist visiting from other parts of the world. The event also promotes collaboration, personal growth and communal development for the betterment of society.”
