For the second consecutive year, VPS Healthcare with its units LLH Hospital & Medical Centers Musaffah, Lifecare Hospital Musaffah and Baniyas Branch, and OccuMed Clinic Musaffah, together with ZonesCorp launched the ‘Health and Happiness Campaign’ at the workers’ residential cities in Mussafah on the occasion of the International Labour Day.
In line with the Year of Zayed, the campaign was initiated with an artistic portrait of the Father of the Nation, His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan that was formed using various happy smiling pictures of laborers. The launch saw the attendance of officials from the Abu Dhabi Police Musaffah, Abu Dhabi Municipality, Ministry of Human Resource & Emiratization and the VPS management.
As part of the campaign, VPS Healthcare’s mobile health clinic will visit ZonesCorp’s 28 worker-residential cities across Abu Dhabi, that houses over 380,000 workers and offer health screenings and general education about health and wellness to labors, including fun activities. Between April 26 & May 27, 2018, screenings will be done for Diabetes, Hypertension, Heart Diseases, Joint Pains, Respiratory Diseases and others.
“In accordance with the Year of Zayed, VPS Healthcare is committed to serving our community and facilitating greater healthcare access to people. We firmly follow the words of Sheikh Zayed that ‘The real asset of any advanced nation is its people’ and it has been our constant endeavor to ensure the availability of the advanced modern medical facilities in the most remote community. At VPS Healthcare, we believe that prevention is better than cure, and therefore our focus has been on early diagnosis; thus reducing the overall healthcare expenditure,” said Safeer Ahamed, Regional Director – Musaffah, VPS Healthcare.
Commenting on the event, H.E. Saeed Eisa Al Khyeli, Director General of ZonesCorp, said, “ZonesCorp is keen to ensure the best standards of safety and security in workers cities under its supervision so I would like to thank VPS for organizing this excellent initiative. Not only it is in-line with the values of the ‘Year of Zayed’ but it also supports our wider goal of raising health standards for workers, which is why we are keen that it becomes an annual initiative. Laborers play essential role in the overall growth, progress and prosperity of the Emirate so it is essential that they are well cared for in all areas of their lives including healthcare.
“We are very happy to launch this initiative with ZonesCorp for the second year in a row. We have a team of 30 medics and paramedics who will be bringing healthcare closer to the workers. Our mobile clinic is equipped with the latest medical equipment, including X-ray, Spirometry, Ultrasound, Vitals, BMI Machine, Glucometer, Cholesterol meter and ECG capabilities to ensure that the best of care is provided,” added Safeer Ahamed.
