You decorate yourself for somebody
And he has no time for you.

Flowers bloomed forth in great joy
Wishing to be admired
But no,
Men were moving in a trance,
Unaware of the beautiful faces around
Which lined their path and waved to them
From a dignified distance.
How painful it is!
You decorate yourself for somebody
And he has no time for you.
Are men do self-centered?
The flowers carry this pain
In their hearts
Of being ignored by us human beings
I went to a thorn who however,
Appeared to be in eternal joy
Whether it pierces any flesh
Or just stays to the winds of waste
I saw a glimmer of lighted joy
It was a sentinel perhaps
To guard some nature’s treasure
This pain of non-recognition is writ large
On embalmed cheeks and
Embroidered epithets in
Bouquets of words
Layered with pain giving hardly any joy
To the recipient though
This show of extravagant joy
Leaves behind a trail of pain.

The Poet
(Seeking fraternal forgiveness)
Men who keep on talking
Who love their own voice and think
If not the undeclared legislators
They are the Oracles
Who speak the truth
And nothing but the truth
When they see
People absorbed in mortalities
They want the entire world
Should listen only to them
As they consider themselves apart
And blessed to know what is what.
They organize Word Movements
Marches of Poems
And come together to honor
Voices which are Louder
As the world at large
Has no taste for their produce.
For, they only criticize the ranks
And prescribe potions
Not available in the market.
So they organize special camps
To sanitize men against
Corruption and foul thought.
At one of the Medical Camps
They were telling
How truth, good sense
And wisdom can treat Madness
They also had a Chemist Shop
Adjoining the Camp
If you are a votary of Truth,
Good Sense, and Philosophy
Purchase Socrates, Gandhi
Or Aristotle
Let your madness be treated By the best Doctors of philosophy.
