Donkey Cart Race held in Karachi with participation of 40 Donkey Carts; owner of the winner donkey ‘Sartaj; receives a cash prize of Rs.100000, along with a medal and trophy

The Sports Department of the Government of Sindh organized on Wednesday a donkey cart race in Karachi, which was won by a donkey named “Sartaj.” Its owner was awarded a cash prize of Rs.100000, along with a medal and trophy.
Addressing the ceremony, Secretary of Sports and Youth Affairs Sindh, Abdul Aleem Lashari, said that over 40 participants competed in the donkey cart race. The first position was secured by the donkey “Sartaj,” while the second position went to the donkey “Bijli,” whose owner received Rs.75000. The third position was won by “Kala,” with a cash prize of Rs.25000, and the fourth position was taken by “Chaye Patti,” who received Rs.25000.
Secretary Abdul Aleem Lashari announced that, under the directions of Sports Minister Sardar Muhammad Baksh Mehar, the department has decided to register donkey cart race owners. After registration, they will be provided with financial and administrative support.
He emphasized the importance of promoting donkey cart races while also ensuring the welfare of the animals. He further stated that the donkey cart race would be promoted throughout Sindh.
Sindh Sports Department is organizing various games at the district level. There is immense talent among Sindh’s youth when it comes to sports. On this occasion, the Secretary also distributed certificates of appreciation to other participants of the donkey cart race and awarded shields to Sports Department officials, including Director Sports Imdad Ali Abro, Fareed Ahmed District sports officer south and others.
