We often come across souls we have never known, and faces we've never recognized before, falling in love with words without considering who wrote them or what inspired them to put them down, and what lies beneath them. We cry with eyes we've never seen, sharing moments with them, sending our kindest intentions, hoping our feelings could alleviate their sufferings and bring them company. The love of the soul remains the noblest we've ever known, for affection and love are not about the proximity of bodies, but the harmony and resemblance of hearts and souls.
However, some are wary of dealing with people they do not know. They fear engaging with strangers, suspecting them of harboring ill thoughts or malicious intentions. They believe that these strangers might not understand them the way they anticipate, so their primary choice is to distance themselves from any new faces, fearing potential disappointments. Such individuals prefer solitude over the experience of getting to know new souls. They lack the desire to understand others, fearing the outcome might be more harmful than beneficial. They remain stagnant, avoiding challenges or confronting thoughts that might oppose them, for they cannot counteract with stronger action, or meet aggression with greater aggression. Given that human interactions require from him more than he can offer, he surrenders to deal with existence with a mindset wary of the unknown, surrounded by doubts and fears that, over the years, deprive him of mastering the art of human interaction. Thus, he lacks the insight to discern the "wild" nature of others – as he imagines – and eventually falls victim to one.
Until they reach a point where it becomes hard to grasp that the wonderful people around them are more numerous than they imagine. All it takes is giving them a chance to prove otherwise. Sadly, they persist in their fears until they fall prey to them, and they end up lost in their muddled reality.
Conversely, some drift among souls like a wandering spirit, unfazed by the scars of shame or the stings of repeated disappointments. They don't seek understanding or care to reflect on their surroundings. They flounder here and there without learning lessons or mastering the art of interacting with wounded souls or the complex or simple reactions that arise from such encounters.
Between the two, I urge moderation and balance as they provide safe haven. If our thoughts are sound, our perceptions and actions align with them. If our thinking is flawed, our views and deeds reflect those imperfections. From this stems the importance of avoiding thought distortions accumulated from our experiences and the fears of those around us. So, we become suspicious of everything, as if the world revolves around us. They might think that everything others do is aimed to irritate or belittle them, leading to an ever-increasing circle of doubt and prolonged isolation until they lose their humanity.
On the flip side, there are those who mingle freely among souls like free spirits, unaffected by the darts of shame or the pricks of repeated disappointments. They neither seek understanding nor care to ponder their surroundings, staggering between this and that, never learning the lessons or mastering the art of human interaction.
Between these two extremes, I implore you to find balance and moderation as they are the safe refuge. Our perspective on existence is shaped by our thoughts. We must maintain a balance to ensure our moments are well spent and our conditions are set right. By adopting flexible ideas, we can foster an environment where kindness reigns, comforting hearts and lighting up faces. We all face challenges, but life goes on. Instead of shutting doors, we should strive for understanding, and as we accept others despite their flaws, they, in return, embrace our imperfections with understanding and acceptance.
