The Department of Tourism and Archaeology, in collaboration with the Emirates Nature-WWF, organised a community initiative to contribute to the construction of the ecotrail in Umm Al Quwain Mangrove Reserve, which was announced last month in conjunction with World Tourism Day.
The initiative aims to activate the key role of the community and promote the concept of shared social responsibility between individuals and institutions towards protecting natural resources.
Mohammed Essa AlKashf, member of the Federal National Council, and a group of volunteers participated in the initiative, contributing to the preparation of the trail and organising the surrounding area. This was done to provide a unique experience for participants and highlight the importance of environmental conservation.
The initiative also included an educational workshop to raise awareness among participants about their vital role in protecting these important natural areas.
The environmental trail project aligns with the goals of the Umm Al Quwain Sustainable Blue Economy Strategy 2031, which aims to provide social and economic benefits for current and future generations.
