My adept psychiatric father, may he rest in peace, taught me how to give injections since I was a child, not realizing then that I would benefit the most from it, both physically and mentally.
He used to tell me that the human brain can only perceive one action at a time, so if you press on the injection site and withdraw your hand at the same moment you insert the needle, the patient feels the movement of your fingers, not the sting of the needle.
His clever medical skill enabled me to do this professionally. I have been, and still am, giving myself injections to this day, saving me a lot of suffering and easing my needs.
This life skill made me realize that most of our courage and abilities must follow this same path.
If you want to survive, direct your mind to do one thing that doesn't hurt you.
My friend, if you must feel pain, feel only the light that pushes you forward; the light gives you clarity of vision and balanced insight.
Last week, I met with my beautiful friend who will recognize herself as soon as she reads this article. After giving her two therapeutic injections, she said to me, this is the first time I've felt the pain and ache of the medicine.
I was very surprised as to why this time, unlike previous times, she felt the pain. The answer, my friends, lies in our choice to feel the type of pain.
In the beginning, my friend needed the injections because her back pain was stronger than the pain of the needle. Now that the pain has lessened a bit, she feels more pain, exactly as my father taught me.
So, it's your choice to suffer, as it's your choice to recover!
But!!!
Who among us has this skill to command his body not to hurt? Who can overcome his ordeal, easing its severity, transcending all the decay happening inside his soul? And how can we ignore all those obstacles that hover inside our heads and prevent peace of mind?
My friend … live inside your head!!!
All our fears lie in our belief that we cannot; your noble goals swimming in the cells of your mind are the compass for the change you need to turn everything in your favor.
I have tested this statement throughout my entire life. All the challenges I faced, where all human laws deemed them impossible, were achieved against all odds simply because I believed inside my mind that they would happen.
The virtue of living inside your mind shields you from many destructive minds capable of undermining your ambition and destroying your determination.
All the capabilities you may need in your life's journey are trapped inside your mind, so if you imprison your body inside your mind, you take with you everything you need in your earthly journey.
My friend, there are some minds that don't need guidance; they are naturally generous by the grace of the Merciful. Others need vaccinations to keep the mind sound. Others may need daily treatment to keep the mind on the straight path.
Certainly, we will meet those who are not fit to live inside their heads; some of these people must have their heads buried alive due to the decay of the brain cells with the maggots of greed, spite, and hatred, which prevents their healthy and serene bodies.
Do not talk about your dreams as much as you work to achieve them, believe in them inside your head, and strive to achieve them every day until you turn them into a reality that pleases you to live in.
Indeed, your happiness comes when you learn what you should care about, but that happiness flows strongly when you pay attention to what you should not care about.
Do not feed your mind with what makes you look back; all those obstacles and worries disappear as they did before. You may have forgotten that this always happens... but I am here today to remind you of the number of times you thought you would perish but survived.
Some recent studies have shown that the human brain continues to deal with external stimuli during sleep and analyze them, especially those that threaten the sleeper's life, even though it does not visibly respond to many external influences.
Since Allah Almighty has favored us with this during our sleep, how do we allow our minds to sleep while we are awake? This mind that refused to sleep at night must remain awake all the time.
I believe that pain is fuel that drives us to continue with care and skill. Your optimism during failure is intelligence, your confidence in yourself and your abilities during a downturn is the ultimate strength, and your determination to reach your goal despite all the obstacles is an honor for you.
My ambition will always be to do what most people do not do, to live a life that most people cannot.
All of the above is supported by the fact that I leave my fear of tomorrow behind, that I do everything in my power today only, that I go to sleep every day looking forward to undoubtedly being fine tomorrow, and then I firmly believe that life grants the mentally strong all they desire.
I conclude my words with a prayer for you all that Allah may keep the happiness of your minds on you; if you live inside them, that will be the eternal cure from the shackles of time.
