I need you, my father

Though time has passed

I haven't grown up

I need your voice to guide me

I need your embrace to warm me

I need your hand to heal me

Your absence tires me, if only you knew

With every step, I remember you

And the memory in the heart bleeds

Your daughter hasn't grown up

She wants to sit on your lap

And rest her head on your shoulder

She wants your hand to feed her

I miss you, my father

I miss you, and the longing does not subside

Time does not make me forget

Nor does work distract me

I am tired, if only you knew

And you never knew

How your absence hurts me

Before your departure, we were never apart

I never imagined you would leave

Leave your little daughter

So, despite the years, I haven't grown up
