Appreciation should be extended to the efforts of the host countries, Lebanon, Jordan, and Syria, for Palestinian refugees.

Egypt remains at the forefront of countries striving for a comprehensive and just peace in the Middle East. Egypt has adopted peaceful coexistence and rejection of violence as a steadfast strategic approach for over 40 years.

During this time, Egypt has dedicated its efforts to disseminating this culture in the region as the only means to achieve security, stability, development, and prosperity for its people and to bring about positive change in their lives.

Ultimately, there is no alternative to direct negotiations between the parties to the conflict in order to reach a comprehensive settlement that ensures the sustainability of the agreement. By ending the suffering of the Palestinian people and reclaiming their legitimate rights, Egypt, along with its support for international initiatives and efforts, including the French efforts, aims to achieve a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue.

This solution would lead to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, with its capital in East Jerusalem, based on the borders of June 4, 1967. Such a solution would contribute to providing a better reality and a more secure and stable future for the countries and peoples of the region.

Egypt's sincere efforts and commendable endeavors to reach a peaceful settlement of the Palestinian issue are driven by the need to prevent bloodshed and safeguard the rights of the Palestinians.
