Ioannis Kaiserlis deeply believes in the birth of ideas from the ruins, from the gloomy, from where apparently there is no light, movement, life.
The ecological consciousness of the artist Ioannis Kaiserlis is occupied by various extensions, with the primary one being the religious one. Kaiserlis, on the one hand, is sad and mourns for the daily deterioration of nature, and on the other hand, he is subconsciously constantly seeking the meanings of “Divine Providence”, or in other words, that plan of the Creator who will direct all earthly activities, so that the universal balance is not disturbed forever. After all, the religious ideal follows the inspiration of the artist, sometimes openly, and sometimes secretly, covertly, to a point that is only implied if the viewers-readers themselves have similar experiences and cultural perceptions.
Kaiserlis creates from nothing. He deeply believes in the birth of ideas from the ruins, from the gloomy, from where apparently there is no light, movement, life.

The artist is inclined to particular shapes, colors, figures. Nurturing harmony stimulates the full consciousness. His painting awakens in us a searching character, and a desire to penetrate into the secret recesses of his being from the titles themselves. We cannot have an exact chronology here, nor do we deal with it because the artist’s work is very complex, so we will resort to interpretations, that is, by arranging those symbolic sequences in the paintings, and through the names of the paintings and the composition, which is a visual testimony, we will interpret what the painter sends as a message. And by transmitting those messages in this way, we will get a charge. Concept of modern art, if we will search in postmodernism we will see that Ioannis have different interests, not only for painting, as part of art, but also have interests for poetry, philosophy, politicks… The painters connected with the postmodernism like his just connected memory and the pleasure of the eyes.

By playing with the basic colors of red and yellow, which are predominant in the portraits of women, the artist tries to evoke a kind of byzantine beauty with the use of these colors. We cannot say that the painter’s eye absorbed this beauty by some mere chance, because he geographically comes from the area of the former Byzantine Empire, and by shaping that concept of art, he combined what we call the medieval beauty of love with what constitutes the modern concept of a human beauty, so it can rightly be saying that he is a painter who presents to the hungry eye of an observer desirous of beauty exactly the beauty that he himself considers the eye most receptive, and in that he is one hundred percent right. We are not talking about universal beauty here, because even the painter does not see it that way. We are talking about the way in which he presents to us the symbolism of that beauty by depicting different forms, and again giving his enormous contribution in his art.

Why is this painter unique in his painting narrative? He does not want to impose himself, because he carries his imagination within himself as part of the poetics of art, with which he skilfully maneuvers the painterly charge into a unique thought unit composed of form and color. He does not want to impress us, but on the contrary, he offers us both aesthetic and educational content all the time, and this makes him more interesting than the others, and separates him from the kind of contemporary painting that we constantly observe, giving us the chance to learn through his painting narrative and become ourselves creatively liberated, and he does it selflessly and easily…
This again puts him in the line of expressionists, but we certainly must not deny the fact that this painter is a postmodernist as such, even a symbolist…

What the Artist says about himself
My name is Ioannis Kaiserlis, but in the world of Art I am KaiZer. I’m Greek artist, born in Veria in 1974. I presently live in Athens. My desire for painting and artistic expression, comes from my experience of two decades, with interior, industrial and bespoke design and as a Building Contractor, where I was designing modern luxury dwellings. Those three aesthetics contributed to my experiments with art. I have also visited a number of museums in different countries, which enhanced my desire and passion for Abstract Art. I admire every aspect of art, especially painting and sculpturing. I specialize in Abstract Expressionism and each of my artworks is a constant experimentation with passion and dedication.
My art is my need to express my inner thoughts, feelings, and the freedom I feel, when creating, something which is liberating for me, on many levels and allows me to connect the Abstract to the emotional. In other words, my art is me, and every work of mine is a part of my soul and true self.

Through contemporary painting I explore the complexity of modern life, attempting with bold compositions, vivid colors and noticeable fluid movement to create a visual language as dynamic as it is expressive.
Drawing inspiration from a range of sources including pop culture, street art and contemporary design, being an Interior Designer and builder of luxury homes in the past, I strive to portray the eclectic nature and essence of modern culture through abstraction, emotionally liberating and spiritual levels.
I focus on exploring the possibilities of color as a medium by experimenting with various techniques and materials, thus pushing the boundaries of power within painting. I attempt to bridge the gap between traditional and innovative.
I want Art lovers to observe the world in new and exciting ways, challenging them to look beyond the surface of things and explore the deeper complexities that lie beneath.
