They came from behind the wail of the sea
They gathered around the sandy table
And I sip the tenth cup
And the street embraces the black asphalt
And the sun hovers over the casino glass
The sun will not reach my dreams with cold extremities
They came like a kidnapper
They took the "poet" from me
I became incomprehensible
Unrealizable
Insensible
Tearless
They came..
And the rivers
Are now diverging
And the birds
Are planning to return
Her eyes were a piece of wave in a black mountain
Her feet were bare
I used to love the flowers kissing her feet
My flowers will not come out of her May
She was stretching before me like the river
She was diverging like a full moon from the night of sorrows
And all the rivers
Are now gathering on her breasts
And the street roars in my heart
So, I close the windows of time
And I drink from her palm
I sip the lines of life
And I spread her ten fingers
The sea water evaporates
Leaving the salts of the bottom for us
I plant between her green fingers
Minarets and a ship
I draw in her eyes
A statue of the departing sails
And I sing for freedom
They came behind me
In the form of a shoe polisher,
A seller of labneh and cigarettes
They stole from me "the poet"
They stole my feet
And they split in donkey carts
And in Mercedes cars
In the elevator of "the Cotton Palace"
And in the dollar prices
And inside the oil wells
They stole my pens
They cut off my hand
Then they gathered in the stock exchange
And they split ..
Then they gathered above my blood
Let it escape from my artery
Oh, this coagulated blood
The wind sings behind the cut trees
And the night asks me about my hand
About my hair ..
About a sun rising behind the towers
And you are singing in front of the club for the drunks and the killers
And I delude myself .. that you are mine
It was not the habit
To drink that coffee .. plain.
