Emirates Park Zoo and Resort hosted the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment’s annual children’s event last 16 July, which focused on wildlife awareness, education and entertainment.
On a first come-first serve basis, 30 registered children and their families came together at the scenic private zoo for a day of awe-inspiring activities that bridges the gap between children and wildlife. Rubbing shoulders with sea lions, giraffes and elephants, a comprehensive zoo tour, a story telling session and an interactive multimedia presentation are only a few highlights of the one-day event.
The group also danced to the tunes of African drummers and interacted with the fun zoo mascots. The zoo manager Dr. Waleed Sha’aban commented, “We try to incorporate some sort of educational theme into the events especially since our VIPs are children. We want to make sure that our kids are involved and engaged in learning during the summer. There’s so much knowledge to gain when it comes to animals and the wildlife, that we design our experience by combining the best of entertainment, fun, leisure and education.”
“I am very happy to collaborate with the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment for this event and it gives me great delight to be recognized by such a relevant organization,” concluded Dr. Sha’aban.
