Tilal Liwa Hotel joined the world in a global movement as the property showcased a different hue in support of autism for World Autism Awareness Day. A commemoration that took place on 2 April, the 4-star destination shone in blue – the official color for autism awareness.
The General Manager of Tilal Liwa Hotel Khaled Sharabassy said, “Tilal Liwa Hotel recognizes World Autism Awareness Day together with millions of advocates around the world. This day marks our salute for persons and families affected by autism for their unique contributions to the community.”
Guests were welcomed with shades of blue across the exterior and interior areas of the Arabian-inspired facility. Headed by Sharabassy, members of the hotel also joined the commemoration by giving away blue balloons during the day.
An initiative led by the world’s leading autism science and research organization Autism Speaks, the Light It Up Blue campaign illuminates international efforts where thousands of communities, businesses, notable buildings and landmarks across 45 countries lights up in blue for World Autism Awareness Day to pay tribute to individuals and families around the world touched by autism, a lifelong developmental condition that affects the way a person relates to his or her environment and interaction with other people.
“World Autism Awareness Day further seals our mission towards establishing an autism-friendly environment in the region. As a fast-growing country, it is our duty to raise an understanding and acceptance for autism, as well as to foster support for people with autism.” Sharabassy concluded.
