In Kazakhstan, scientists developing a medical drug for cancer treatment have made significant progress, Eurasiatoday.ru reports.
Kazakhstan’s Minister of Science and Higher Education, Sayasat Nurbek, announced that the drug’s registration is planned by the end of 2025.
In 2024, the drug successfully completed the first phase of clinical trials, during which it was tested on patients with colorectal cancer.
Currently, the research has been expanded, and the drug is being tested on patients with various other types of cancer.
According to Minister Sayasat Nurbek, participants have shown positive progress: tumors have decreased by an average of 30%, and some patients have entered remission.
Global practice shows that the development of new drugs usually takes about ten years, but in this case, some stages have been accelerated.
The minister emphasized that the trials are expected to be completed and the drug registered by the end of 2025.
Sayasat Nurbek expressed confidence in the successful completion of the registration process and promised that the ministry would have good news for Kazakhstanis once the procedures are finalized.
