The National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) held an informative workshop for its strategic partners on "Developing the National Framework and Guideline for the Needs of People of Determination," as part of its plans to enhance the national emergency management system through the inclusion and integration of all community members.

The workshop featured a presentation of the 2024 action plan in its initial phase and focused on studying global best practices for people of determination.

It emphasised joint coordination with all relevant entities in the country and highlighted the importance of the policies implemented by these entities. Furthermore, working groups from strategic partners were formed to develop the national framework and guideline for the needs of people of determination and set a timeline to review the first draft of the guideline by the end of the year.

The project "Developing the National Framework and Guideline for the Needs of People of Determination" aims to identify their needs by considering national risk sectors, ensure their safety and readiness through infrastructure improvements, proactively include effective responses in the implementation of the Sendai Framework and Sustainable Development Goals, and providing a future environment that guarantees the inclusion of people of determination in future projects.

Furthermore, NCEMA emphasised the importance of providing necessary support to all community segments, including people of determination, to face crises and disasters. The guideline for the needs of people of determination is a crucial step towards this goal, as it will enhance the crisis and emergency management community's ability to provide effective and appropriate responses for every individual.

NCEMA appreciated the collaborative efforts of its strategic partners and their active role in this workshop. It expressed anticipation for continued constructive cooperation to achieve further progress in this vital field.

NCEMA stressed the need for integration and cooperation between various entities and institutions to enhance the national system's capabilities to face challenges efficiently, effectively, and flexibly, ensuring the safety and well-being of everyone.

NCEMA, along with its strategic partners in the crisis and emergency management community, is working to raise preparedness and readiness for all risks by including and integrating all community members in its current and future plans. Additionally, NCEMA is continuously developing and updating its mechanisms and plans to enhance harmony and coordination among all national entities.
