PROCOMER Costa Rica, hosted its end of the year conference titled “Costa Rica: 2017 Achievements, 2018 Prospects” on 19th December in Dubai. The event was attended by food industry leaders and Expo 2020 officials to celebrate a year of diplomatic successes including the official visit of Costa Rica’s president to the UAE and the opening of the country’s embassy in Abu Dhabi.
This year, the country hosted Abu Dhabi’s Fund for Development (ADFD) as well as Dubai’s Chamber of Commerce and has welcomed the news of opening UAE’s embassy in Costa Rica, which will greatly facilitate trade between the two nations.
PROCOMER Costa Rica furthered discussed the range of products available for export including tropical fruits and gourmet chocolate of the highest quality. As the world’s leading exporter of fresh pineapple, the country is looking to diversify its export destinations to increase its trade with the Gulf Nations.
After a fruitful participation in this year’s mega food fair Gulfood, Costa Rica has confirmed its presence for 2018 with a lineup comprised of its best exporters offering among other products coffee, pineapple, fruit juices, rainforest water, frozen fruits and gourmet chocolate.
The talk marked the end of an eventful year of both bond strengthening and friendship consolidation, and evidently, in 2018, Costa Rica will continue to defy the geographical distance that separates the two regions.
