When Emirates Palace resolved to surpass fund-raising efforts for its annual Golden Hearts partnership with the Make-A-Wish Foundation UAE, the five-star Hotel turned to local school children, and a Bake Sale was born with the goal of granting even more holiday wishes of children in the UAE with life-threatening illnesses.
This year, Emirates Palace intends to be a community leader in both charitable giving and community engagement and a new spin on an old partnership has been forged with both the American Community School Abu Dhabi (ACS) and The British School Al Khubairat (BSAK) to help local school children volunteer.
Emirates Palace’s Executive Team of Chefs worked with ACS and BSAK students and Make-A-Wish kids to decorate 300 festive-themed cookies to be sold at a bake sale managed by the two student led groups.
On the Hotel’s partnership with ACS and BSAK, Emirates Palace General Manager Holger Schroth says, “Emirates Palace is pleased to welcome the two student groups and the Make-A-Wish UAE kids into our Pastry Kitchen. With the school groups, we will work together to make this festive season much merrier for kids in need and bring smiles to more Wish kids’ faces.”
“We are thrilled to be part of this initiative at Emirates Palace for the second year. Thank you to all for putting smiles on the faces of our wish kids and raising funds for more life-changing wishes,” says Mr Hani Al Zubaidi, CEO of Make-A-Wish UAE.
