Kaja Kallas, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, hailed the agreement between Israel and Hamas on the first phase of the Gaza peace deal as a "significant breakthrough."

In a post on X, Kallas said, "This is a major diplomatic accomplishment and a real chance to end a devastating war and release all the hostages."

“The EU will do what it can to support its implementation,” she added.
