“In the future, all public transport will be replaced by electric buses,” mentioned the city’s head.

Recently, Dushanbe introduced 30 new electric buses produced by the joint venture “Akia Avesto Automat Industry” in Tajikistan.

These electric buses are 12 meters long and can accommodate 100 passengers, with seating for 32. The buses are equipped with heating and cooling systems, featuring 6 surveillance cameras and 2 information screens.

The source explained that in the last six years, the municipal enterprises’ transport fleet in the city has been completely equipped with modern buses, totaling 410 units from domestic production.

In the spring of 2023, Tajikistan authorities agreed to expand the use of electric vehicles in the country. A law was developed to exempt electric vehicles from taxes and customs duties upon importation into Tajikistan, as reported by the press service of the lower house of the parliament.
