Yasser Al Gergawi, Director-General of Sandooq Al Watan, honoured the winning teams in the final competitions of the second edition of Mubarmij50, an initiative launched by Sandooq Al Watan in cooperation with Aldar Academies. The event is held under the patronage of Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence and Chairman of Sandooq Al Watan.

A total of 21 teams won, out of 634 teams that participated in the final phase of the competition, which began earlier this year. The initiative aimed to provide opportunities for students from public and private schools across all emirates of the UAE, empowering Emirati school students to unleash their potential in modern technology fields such as coding and robotics.

Al Gergawi expressed his delight at the presence of more than 1,200 school students, teachers, and parents in the final stages of Mubarmij50, competing to demonstrate their knowledge and skills in coding and robotics. He said that this competition marks the beginning of a new generation advancing towards the world of technology, positioning the UAE to become the homeland of some of the best coders and inventors globally in the near future.

He further explained that Mubarmij50 included several key phases, beginning last year with the establishment of coding clubs in participating public and private schools. Over 10,000 students have joined these clubs so far, giving them the right to participate in the main competition of Mubarmij50 and benefit from the courses and programmes provided by Sandooq Al Watan in collaboration with Al Dar Education.

The Sandooq Al Watan Director-General noted that the final competitions involved 1,200 students organised into 634 teams, who gathered in one venue to present their experiences and ideas to a specialised judging panel.
