Jordan welcomes UN Security Council Resolution on Gaza ceasefire

Jordan has welcomed the United Nations Security Council's adoption of Resolution No. 2735, which supports reaching a comprehensive ceasefire agreement and an exchange deal to ensure the delivery of adequate and sustainable humanitarian aid to all parts of the Gaza Strip.

According to Jordan News Agency (Petra), the ministry praised the resolution’s rejection of any attempts to impose demographic or geographic changes in the Strip and its reaffirmation of the two-state solution as the pathway to peace.

Sufian Qudah, the ministry’s official spokesperson, emphasised the importance of implementing this resolution, which aligns with international law and the principles of the United Nations. He noted that the resolution represents the international community’s call to end the war on Gaza, ensure the protection of civilians, and deliver consistent humanitarian aid across the Strip.
