UAE Embassy in Seoul hosts Tolerance Iftar to celebrate Ramadan

Abdulla Saif Al Nuaimi, UAE Ambassador to the Republic of Korea, hosted an Iftar under the theme ‘Tolerance’ to celebrate and reinforce values of dialogue, understanding, and coexistence. The Iftar took place at the ambassador's residence in the capital of South Korea, Seoul.

The event aiming to consolidate principles of peaceful coexistence, mutual understanding, and tolerance, was attended by prominent Korean officials, including Kim Chang-Mo, Secretary General of the Korea-Arab Society (KAS), and guests from various religions, as well as officials from academia and the media, in addition to a group of prominent figures and influencers.

The annually held event conveys the message of tolerance, and advocates intercultural and interreligious dialogue to strengthen principles of coexistence, and peace.

Al Nuaimi delivered a welcoming speech, and said, “The UAE celebrates the holy month of Ramadan by breaking the barriers of race, colour, and ethnicity. Here, among the diverse cultures, languages, and traditions, we embrace the essence of tolerance that defines our nation.”

Al Nuaimi also added, “The UAE is an example of coexistence and progress, as the spirit of moderation and respect for others are core principles in Emirati society. Our country provides a decent life for everyone where peace prevails.” Before starting the event, attendees were shown a short video titled ‘Tolerance’, which emphasised its importance as a core value and unwavering principle within UAE society.

Attendees also had the opportunity to experience Emirati culture and traditions, and learn about the development and prosperity of the UAE, a country that is the only nation in the Middle East that has a ‘Special Strategic Partnership' with the Republic of Korea. The attendees also expressed their hope to reinforce building bridges of understanding and dialogue.
