Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation carries out Ramadan programme in Chad

The UAE has sent three planes carrying food aid to the Republic of Chad during the holy month of Ramadan.

The planes carried 102 tonnes of supplies, including more than 3,500 Ramadan food baskets, as part of a Ramadan programme supervised by the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation.

The third plane arrived at Amdjarass Airport in Chad yesterday with a cargo of 36 tonnes of supplies and food baskets. Two planes were also sent last week carrying 66 tonnes of Ramadan baskets.

The Ramadan baskets included essential food items such as dates, rice, flour, sugar, oil, grains and baby milk, as well as other necessities for families during the holy month.

The UAE humanitarian team, in cooperation with the local authorities in the city, continues to distribute the Ramadan baskets to poor, needy, displaced and underprivileged families. The number of beneficiaries of this project has now exceeded 3,500 poor families in all neighbourhoods of Amdjarass city and the surrounding towns.

The UAE humanitarian team consists of the Emirates Red Crescent, the Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, and the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, in cooperation with the UAE Aid Coordination Office in Chad.
