Kyrgyzstan has delivered humanitarian aid weighing 111 tons to Afghanistan, consisting of food and essential items, the Kyrgyz Ministry of Emergency Situation announced.
The shipment, transported by 11 trucks, included 75 tons of flour, 20 tons of sugar, 5 tons of sunflower oil, 500 beds, an equal number of warm blankets and mattresses, as well as winter clothing worth 1 million soms, along with hygiene products.
The International Civil Defense Organization funded the humanitarian assistance.
The aid convoy successfully completed its mission in Afghanistan from December 1 to 9, under the supervision of the Chairman of the State Committee for National Security, Kamchybek Tashiev.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations added that rescuers also provided medical assistance to earthquake-affected residents.
In Afghanistan, on October 7, 2023, a powerful earthquake in the Herat province, near the borders of Iran and Turkmenistan, resulted in over 2,000 deaths, 10,000 injuries, and thousands of homes rendered uninhabitable.
