Trade and economic cooperation between Tajikistan and Germany has been developing year by year, and in 2023, the mutual trade turnover between the countries increased by 60%, reaching $183 million, Avesta reports.

This was announced during the negotiations between Tajikistan’s Minister of Economic Development and Trade, Zavkizoda Zavki Amin, and the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Federal Republic to Tajikistan of Germany, York Shugraf.

The sides discussed priority areas of bilateral trade and economic cooperation, according to the press service of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan. It was noted that the Tajikistan government attaches great importance to the development of trade and economic cooperation with Germany.

During the meeting, the parties also discussed priority directions of bilateral trade and economic cooperation, including attracting grant financing for the implementation of the “green” economic development strategy in Tajikistan for 2023-2037 and projects in the field of digital economy. They also talked about establishing new production capacities for electronic equipment in Tajikistan and implementing projects to prevent the negative consequences of natural disasters.

Moreover, the sides discussed issues related to increasing exports from Tajikistan, education, healthcare, tourism, and expressed readiness for further expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation.
