Uzbekistan recognized as safest country for tourists in Central Asia

Uzbekistan has been recognized as the safest destination for tourists in Central Asia, and Kazakhstan excels in providing medical assistance, according to data from the International SOS, the world’s largest company specializing in travel security and medical services, Asiaplustj.info reports.

According to the interactive risk map, Uzbekistan falls into the category of countries with low danger levels. This signifies low levels of violence, rare occurrences of mass disturbances and terrorism, efficient security and emergency services, and well-maintained infrastructure.

Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan are grouped as countries with a medium risk level. It is noted that in such countries, political unrest, mass protests, or acts of terrorism occasionally take place.

Travelers might encounter risks related to intercommunity, religious, or racial violence, and strikes might disrupt trips.

The risk map includes five levels of danger, ranging from insignificant to extremely high.

The safest countries for tourists worldwide are Switzerland, Slovenia, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Iceland, and Greenland. Afghanistan, Ukraine, Iraq, Yemen, Libya, Somalia, and South Sudan are categorized as extremely hazardous.

International SOS experts analyzed countries worldwide regarding the degree of development and accessibility of medical care. Kazakhstan stands out in the region as a country with “variable risk.”

In such countries, quality medical, emergency, and dental care, as well as prescription medications, are available from individual providers in major cities, but accessibility to such services may be limited in other locations. The same can be said for the likelihood of contracting infectious diseases.

Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan are recognized as countries with “high risk.” In such states, basic emergency, medical, and dental services may be available, but specialized care is limited even in major cities.

High-quality prescription medications may be unavailable, and food or waterborne infections are widespread. Potentially life-threatening infectious diseases such as malaria, typhoid, and cholera may pose a constant threat.

International SOS is a world-leading company providing health and safety services, with 13,000 experts in security, medicine, logistics, and digital technologies operating in 90 countries worldwide. Seventy percent of the Fortune Global 500’s leading international companies are clients of International SOS.
