Air Cairo transports 35 influential tourism figures from UAE to Sharm el-Sheikh

A delegation consisting of 35 tour organizers, media representatives, and influential figures working in the travel and tourism market in the United Arab Emirates began their visit to Sharm el-Sheikh yesterday, Monday.

The Egyptian company "Air Cairo," a subsidiary of the Ministry of Civil Aviation, transported the Emirati delegation as part of the efforts adopted by the Ministry of Civil Aviation to support and promote inbound tourism from abroad, which has witnessed significant activity in recent times, especially from Arab Gulf countries to Egyptian tourist destinations.

Starting next May and coinciding with the launch of the Arab Travel Market (ATM) 2023 exhibition in Dubai, Air Cairo will begin a promotional campaign in cooperation with the Egyptian Tourism Promotion Authority to boost travel and tourism to Sharm el-Sheikh.

Egyptian Civil Aviation Minister, Major General Mohamed Abbas Helmy, confirmed the ministry's commitment to providing all forms of support and facilitation to the delegation in favor of the aviation sector and the Egyptian state, achieving comprehensive development goals, and supporting the pillars of the national economy.

He pointed to the effective efforts made by the ministry towards opening new markets for air transport and reaching many cities worldwide through the integration of the networks of the national airline, EgyptAir, and the low-cost economic arm, Air Cairo, and adopting a package of measures that support air and tourism movement in light of the development plan adopted by the state to benefit from the natural assets of Egyptian tourist destinations.

Hussein Sherif, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Air Cairo, also confirmed that the company has started operating two weekly flights between Dubai, Jeddah, Riyadh, and Sharm el-Sheikh using its latest E190 aircraft. This comes as part of the coordination and cooperation with several hotels in Sharm el-Sheikh, including the Rixos Hotel Group, to support air and tourism movement and attract more tourists from Arab countries to Egyptian tourist destinations. He explained that the company is seeking to expand its fleet, extend its network of air routes, increase flights, and increase seating capacity to many Egyptian tourist points.
