UAE University organizes activities of “UAE Homeland of Tolerance”

The Student Affairs at the United Arab Emirates University organized a cultural festival entitled "UAE Homeland of Tolerance", on the International Day for Tolerance, which is marked on November 16 of each year. The university conducted cultural and artistic activities on this occasion, with the wide participation of university students from 27 different countries.

On this occasion, Dr. Suad Al Marzouqi, Associate Provost for Student Affairs said: “The UAEU is considered a national flagship university and a cultural hub that includes many international students from more than 75 countries. The university participates in this global occasion to achieve the vision of tolerance of our wise leadership, which has become a civilized approach and a cultural heritage. The university also seeks to promote the concept of tolerance, coexistence, and cultural and knowledge exchange, as it includes many international students, which constitutes an ideal, positive environment for tolerance and coexistence.”

She added, “We seek, through the 3-day-activities of the ‘UAE Homeland of Tolerance’, with the participation of 27 pavilions, to deepen dialogue and cultural and civilizational exchange, to ensure acceptance of the other, and to promote that approach for future generations, through initiatives, practices and activities aimed at promoting the principle of tolerance and human openness that our leadership is supporting based on our strong national values and ethics.”

The activities included several competitions and artistic and folkloric performances from different cultures. The students of different nationalities have organized pavilions that introduce the cultures, customs, and civilizations of the peoples of those countries, in addition to showing student films and musical performances.
