The Morocco National Tourist Office for the Middle East and Asia, headquartered in Abu Dhabi, in collaboration with Nirvana Travel & Tourism launched a workshop in Marrakech, Morocco for delegations comprising of more than 100 travel companies to promote tourism in Morocco within the Arab communities.
The workshop was designed to bring awareness and promote touristic opportunities and inter-city travel offered by the Kingdom of Morocco for the UAE and the GCC. Held in Palmeraie Palace in Marrakech, the high-profile event was attended by travel companies and leading market experts who conducted events to encourage Gulf travellers and tourists to discover the enriching culture and landmarks of Morocco.
Mohamed Sadiq Shaker, Director for the Morocco National Tourist Office for the Middle East and Asia said in a statement, “Morocco has significantly developed its tourism and vacation experience making it an idyllic holiday destination for families and travellers from the Gulf region. These improvements have also piqued the interests of travel and tourism agencies from the GCC countries who are now seeking to boost the volume of tourists from the GCC region to Morocco.”
The promotional program in Marrakech aims to increase cooperation between travel and tourism agencies of the GCC countries and its Moroccan counterparts in order to catapult rapid growth to Moroccan tourism and investments. To attract more travellers and further the nation’s identity as a leading tourist destination of the region, Morocco has introduced a series of marketing campaigns and promotional programs. “The tourism industry of Morocco will benefit from the multi-faceted campaign that uses a variety of different marketing tools, and the multitude of agreements and partnerships that have been signed between travel agents of the UAE, GCC and the Middle East. Our partners will help us target families considering Morocco’s focus on family tourism”.
In 2016, Morocco has seen a remarkable 4% increase in its number of tourists totalling to a whopping 11 million tourists, and has projected a 6% and 8% increase in the years 2017 and 2018 respectively. Noteworthy is this growth has been attributed to the completion of Moroccan infrastructure and tourist projects. Today, visitors will find a diverse selection of experiences ranging from rich-traditional to urban-modern, spanning limitless recreational, leisure, hospitality, cultural and entertainment facilities.
