Russia expresses concern over military escalation in Middle East

The Russian Federation has expressed its extreme concern at the recent escalation in the Middle East region, calling for self-restraint.

In a statement today, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation called on all parties involved in the conflict to exercise restraint, stressing the need for regional states to resolve the existing problems through political and diplomatic means, reiterating the importance for the constructively-minded international players to contribute to this effort.

“We have repeatedly warned that the numerous unresolved crises in the Middle East will exacerbate tensions,” the statement added.
