UAE Media Council participates in 6th China-Arab States Broadcasting & Television Cooperation Forum

The UAE Media Council took part in the 6th China-Arab States Broadcasting and Television Cooperation Forum, which was held in Hangzhou, the capital of east China's Zhejiang Province.

The event was organised in collaboration between the Secretariat General of the Arab League and the National Radio and Television Administration (NRTA) of China, with the participation of ministers of information and media personnel from both sides.

During a virtual keynote speech at the forum's opening, Mohammed Saeed Al Shehhi, Secretary-General of UAE Media Council, highlighted the significance of this event in showcasing the depth of cooperation and friendship between Arab countries and the People's Republic of China.

Al Shehhi stated, "We live in a world characterised by rapid changes and transformations, and the media sector, with its diverse fields, stands out as one of the emerging sectors with promising potential to contribute to the global economy."

International collaboration between Arab countries and China, he noted, is vital for capitalising on opportunities in the media industry and advancing common developmental goals.

He emphasised that the media sector in the UAE has made significant progress in recent years, positioning the UAE as a global destination for major media companies thanks to its modern infrastructure, flexible legislation, and policies that stimulate media growth.

Al Shehhi reiterated the UAE's commitment to extending communication bridges with Chinese media institutions, aiming to achieve a qualitative leap in the media sector.

The forum, established in 2011 as a significant initiative within the China-Arab cooperation framework, welcomed over 300 delegates from both regions.
