Sultan bin Ahmed launches UoS’s silver jubilee postage stamp

H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah (UoS), launched the UoS's commemorative postage stamp on the occasion of its silver jubilee and the 25th anniversary of its founding, in cooperation with Emirates Post, at the university’s headquarters.

Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed toured the exhibition, which included several postage stamps, learning about the most prominent issues of Emirates Post for the Emirate of Sharjah in particular and the UAE in general, in addition to postage stamps issued on national occasions.

This stamp embodies the university’s journey in the education sector and represents the anniversary of the founding of this pioneering academic edifice, as the UoS was established in 1997 as a translation of the vision of H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to provide distinguished education for students from various specialisations, and to advance scientific research in the country. Since then, the UoS has witnessed continuous growth and development, as it took upon itself to raise the banner of education in the Emirate of Sharjah and graduated thousands of distinguished students who contributed significantly to the development of the UAE.

The UoS is one of the most prominent scientific and research universities in the UAE and the Arab region, as it ranked first in the country, as well as being ranked among the top 300 universities in the world.

The President of the UoS was accompanied at the exhibition by Abdulla Al Ashram, CEO of Emirates Post Group, Dr. Hamid M.K. Al Naimiy, Chancellor of the UoS, and a number of members of the Board of Trustees of the UoS.
